Here is Kat Dennings at the L.A. premiere of Thor last night and I already know what you’re thinking. I completely agree, this photographer is gifted. I mean, the composition, the lighting, its just breathtaking. Old School

You may notice that my hair grew over night. But really this is an outfit from before we left our little town, obviously before the new big city hair. Glad I had it on hand as today I'm in t-shirt and shorts that I may or may not have slept in, not quite blog worthy.

Am I alone in this or did you used to pine over new loafers for school? Just me, eh? I loved a new pair of loafers. There was just something about going into third grade that made me want to be an 80 year old man. While these are a much hipper version, I'm getting a little nostalic for my annual pair of loafers. Except it's 15 years later and I'm not pairing them with colored tube socks. Yet.

I'm on the clock today, even though it's technically a holiday. I figure this is the first of many holidays I will work. You say, holiday I say Monday. But really it just means I have an excuse to dress up which is fine by me. 

The Times They are a-changing

You know that saying 'today is the first day of the rest of your life?" Well I personally feel like that's only applicable to a few life experiences like maybe if you woke up from a decade long coma or recently got out of prison. But today is the first day of a new chapter for me, so I feel like it's slightly appropriate. You see my friends, I have exciting news. Today I got the keys to a place that I'm renting. No, not to live in but to work in. In about 3 weeks from today, I'll open the doors to a little clothing shop that I will own and manage. After working on this for close to a year, I have to admit it's really really hard not to end every sentence with about 3 exclamation points and a emoticon that looks like this guy :-P. But for your sake, I'll spare you. Okay, maybe just a few... !!!!!!!! There, I'm better now. 
So what does that mean for my blog? For the month of September my outfits will probably be a bit more casual and I'll probably look tired from the lack of sleep due to high levels of anxiety and caffeine. But other than that no change. I'll still get dressed everyday because let's be honest, no one wants to see me naked. 
Oh and as for the hair, I went with Olivia 1.5. I couldn't quite gain the courage to go as short as #2. One day, you guys. One day.

Short Cuts

Say goodbye to the tresses, my friends. I've got an appointment at lunch to get a haircut. I haven't decide which Olivia I'm going with yet (1 or 2). We'll see if I'm brave enough to go with the short cut. I had to explain to Bryan the other day why I had so many photos of girls saved to my computer. "I just really like their hair, ok?" He didn't say anything. Just slowly backed away. I guess 30 photos of the Olsen twins and Olivia Palermo is overload...but is it? I've never shown him my collection of Kate Middleton outfit photos. That would really scare him. 
Gingham always makes me feel a little bit country. I also realized my skirt is John Deere green.  Farmer chic it is. 

Lessons in Moving

Over the weekend I've learned two things: don't move in 110 heat and always label the box with your shoes in it with the largest label you have. My outfits may be a little weird this week as most of my shoes ended up in a storage unit buried under a couch and a mattress. I've never realized how much I love shoes until I threatened everyone in the room at knife point to help me dig them out. Even with threats, no one has offered their assistance. Yet. I might have to get a bigger knife. 
One of the better parts of moving is the unpacking…no, we all know that's not true. That is an optimistic lie. I hate unpacking but it was fun to see all of my clothes on hangers again and to put new things with old things and remix some pieces I hadn't worn in a while. You know what else is fun? Not moving again for a very long time. We are talking months, here people. Months.
